ARC16 - The Extrication Challenge
The traditional 3 class Extrication Challenge (EC) that has been the main stay of the Australasian Rescue Challenge will continue to be offered to participants again in 2016 for the 22nd year.
This series of Challenges is designed for a 6-person rescue team, including a Team Leader/OIC and medical specialist. The 3 classes all vary slightly in objective and opportunity to demonstrate skills. Once again, thanks to the on going support of Holden, ARRO will be able to offer every team a current model vehicle in every scenario. For more details on the classes and their objectives, please log in to the ARRO web site and download a copy of the rules.
ARC16 - The Trauma Challenge
The Trauma Challenge (TC) continues to be a staple part of the program, this year expanding once again to two pits. This is a 2-person 15 minute event designed to hone the medical skills of team members. Teams will be assessed based on the level of medical skill they bring to the challenge, so its a perfect opportunity for everyone from first aiders to advanced care paramedics to demonstrate best practice at their level.
Every 6-person EC team that registers automatically has one pair of their team entered in the TC. However ARRO is keen to promote the event as a learning opportunity, so EC teams can enter up to 3 pairs, and other organisations such as Ambulance services and per-hospital care providers are encouraged to enter TC teams independent of the EC.
